For centuries, women in Uganda have been expected to take on traditional roles—caretakers, homemakers, and supporters rather than leaders, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers. But change is happening.
Through BID Tukole, women are stepping into new spaces, leading businesses, and transforming their families’ futures. Take Aisha, for example. Once dependent on her husband’s inconsistent earnings, she now runs a thriving poultry farm, a venture she built with skills acquired from our Shamba @ Home program.
This is what true empowerment looks like—women reclaiming their voices, their futures, and their communities.
